Drummer. composer, and storyteller Sean Noonan will present the newest Brewed by Noon chapter that is a fermentation of Irish-American storytelling improvised on the drum set. Influenced by Irish avant-garde writer Samuel Beckett, Noonan’s New Irish Brew is a collection of high energy Jazz/Punk songs from his Irish roots and beyond.
With a new band that includes Shanir Blumenkranz-bass (John Zorn Zadik Records), Alex Marcelo-piano, (Yusef Lateef), and Aram Bajakian-guitar, (Jamaaladeen Tacuma).
Noonan’s new compositions can be described as grandiose, intoxicating, sui generis, blending passionate Irish-American storytelling, raw power-jamming jazz/rock guitars, shape-shifting improvisations, dense soundscapes, funked and punked up drum and bass grooves.
Since 1998, Sean Noonan has emerged as part of the next generation of cutting edge music from the Brooklyn underground, performing in over 16 countries around the world.
Noonan has produced 12 albums, incorporating a diverse spectrum of styles and recognized musicians such as Marc Ribot, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Mat Maneri, Abdoulaye Diabate, and Susan McKeown.
